SketchUp is not intended to be a photorealistic rendering tool. It's primary intent and how we used it, was to communicate and address several different design concepts, details, and ideas. However, this is not to say it doesn't produce a particular quality of it's own that is recognizable from firm to firm (particularly it's use of elements from the 3D warehouse.)
